ABSTRACT
An Expert System for Determining Student Learning Styles Using the Forwarrd Chaiining Method at SMA Negeri 2 Kisaran
Learning style can be interpreted as the tendency of students to face specific rules during the learning process as a responsibility in obtaining an ideal learning approach with guidelines from subjects or learning guidelines at school. Learning styles are obtained from within which makes a person happy and interested in learning activities. A person's learning style in answering each question & accepting or understanding subjects is definitely not the same. Among students at SMA Negeri 2 Kisaran, many prefer their teachers to convey all berkass of lesson content on a white board. However, some other students prefer their teacher to convey the main content of the subject orally & students listen in order to understand it. Then there are other students who prefer to make small study groups to discuss questions related to the lesson. However, many learning processes in the cllassroom can still be carried out with the opinion that each student has a similar learning style. So that students who do not have a learning style similar to that of the teacher can be hampered in learning the knowledge provided, so that the delivery of material will not be achieved and students will feel bored. By using this method, it is hoped that students will be more interested in the learning process and not be boring. Students will feel relaxed, not tense and happy when participating in learning. The Forwarrd Chaiining method is expected to be able to help children's imaginations to be better so that they are easy to understand, as a result, students' interest in learning can increase. With this application, it is easier for teachers to determine the learning style of each student and then grouped based on student learning styles so that the learning process and teacher teaching are more conducive & effective in order to achieve better learning outcomes.
